Tofail started his musical journey with his main Guru Pt Anil Kumar Shaha in Dhaka.

He was in Delhi for several years as an ICCR (Indian Council for Cultural Relations) scholar and received his higher training there with some legendary maestros such as Pt Birju Maharaj and many others.

He sang in various languages such as Bengali, Sanskrit, Urdu, Punjabi, Hindi, Braj Bhasha (the main language of North Indian classical music) and Gujrati.

Tofail is an enlisted TV artist in Dhaka and he was working as a music teacher at International School Dhaka (ISD).
